Policy Analyst

The Policy Analyst will support key programmatic, research, outreach, and educational initiatives led by the Principal Investigator. Responsibilities include coordinating project activities, scheduling and meetings, managing project deliverables, assisting with grant and manuscript preparation, and facilitating communication with internal and external partners - all with a high level of professionalism and collaboration. The Analyst will apply professional concepts and research methods to conduct analytical projects of moderate scope addressing policy, research, and procedural issues in community-based women's health research in the U. S. South.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum three years of experience or equivalent experience / training.
  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes, and Ability to process and prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite tools and EndNote.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow-through independently on projects.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the reproductive health and /or justice fields
  • Experience in an academic / University setting.
  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Funder has phoned requesting an urgent meeting with ANSIRH personnel to go over current grants and opportunities for the future.
  • Willingness to travel/flexible work schedule.
  • Comfort with sensitive topics such as abortion, contraception, and pregnancy.
  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and arranging complex travel

Salary Information


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.


Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
