The Clinical Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for the assessment of respiratory patients with acute and chronic illnesses, to ensure delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures as prescribed by the medical staff for neonate, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. The Clinical Respiratory Therapist II serves as a role model and resource providing clinical leadership and service coordination that assures consistently high-quality care and facilitating continuous improvement in respiratory care services. The Clinical Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for providing patient care and assessment; interdisciplinary consultation; staff, patient, family, and community education; and performance monitoring. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Required Qualifications
Minimum one year experience Strong communication and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively within intra and inter departmental teamsAbility to establish and maintain productive and positive working relationships with internal and external customers and co-workersPossess the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position, including, but not limited to:Expert knowledge of clinical respiratory care assessment and therapeutic modalities for the clinical area(s) assignedExpert knowledge and experience in the application of ventilator supportPatient and family educationExperience in planning and conducting Inservice education and trainingFlexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications One year of neonatal/pediatric acute and intensive care preferredPrior Experience and demonstrated abilities in:Adult, Pediatric, or Neonatal critical careQuality Improvement processesClinical EducationImplementation and application of patient-driven protocols. About UCSF

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
