Our Transformation Associate Director is an integral member of UCSF Health's Office of Transformation, supporting the design, execution, and delivery of enterprise-wide strategic and operational initiatives. Working closely with the VP of Transformation and Principals and Directors, the Associate Director contributes to high-impact projects that enhance access, efficiency, and quality across UCSF Health. This role blends strategic analysis and advisement, structured project management, and collaborative problem-solving. Under the direction of the VP or Principal, the Associate Director independently leads initiatives or workstreams within larger transformation programs, translating strategic objectives into concrete plans and measurable results.
Required Qualifications
Three (3) years or more relevant health administration experience.Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, public health, healthcare management, industrial engineering, life sciences).Strong skills in short- and long-range planning, program and project management, facilitation, and collaboration.Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and drive execution across multiple concurrent projects. Familiarity with project-management methodologies, milestone tracking, and risk-mitigation techniques.Strong ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.Sound strategic thinking and consulting skills in guiding the department toward workable strategies and solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of identifying root causes, structuring complex issues, and recommending actionable solutions.Proficient in data interpretation, modeling, and translating findings into executive-ready insights. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of staff and members of the community.Strong ability to work effectively across functions and build consensus. Demonstrated professionalism, emotional intelligence, and respect in navigating complex team dynamics.Strong ability to coach, facilitate, and influence people at all levels.Works effectively within a team environment, contributing to shared goals with openness and reliability.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information for executive audiences. Experience preparing executive-level presentations and reports.Understanding of provider operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare finance fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with organizational change-management frameworks and tools to support adoption of new processes or initiatives.Experience working at a top tier management consulting firm.Advance degree, i.e., MBA, MHA or MPH. About UCSF
