***Please note: The anticipated duration of this assignment is 6 months. Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Residency Education Coordinator is responsible for the administration and management of the residency program in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. You will collaborate with the Program Directors and Director of Education in the oversight and management of the program and ensure that both annual reporting requirements are met and that educational activities including the curriculum are maintained as per ACGME and GME requirements and guidelines. You will facilitate annual recruiting activities and will work to ensure an optimal clinical and educational training environment for current trainees to support success in training and beyond.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Residency Education Coordinator is responsible for the administration and management of the residency program in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. You will collaborate with the Program Directors and Director of Education in the oversight and management of the program and ensure that both annual reporting requirements are met and that educational activities including the curriculum are maintained as per ACGME and GME requirements and guidelines. You will facilitate annual recruiting activities and will work to ensure an optimal clinical and educational training environment for current trainees to support success in training and beyond. You will be innovative and will take initiative to improve and standardize administrative processes across the program wherever possible. With guidance from and in collaboration with the Director of Education, you will provide strategic oversight for the anesthesia residency program, driving consistency in process and standardization across areas wherever possible.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 3+ years minimum experience required
  • Thorough knowledge of or ability to quickly come up to speed on relevant policies and regulatory requirements; solid knowledge of health professions education program requirements; and thorough knowledge of the health professions education industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research; demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems; and thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.
  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills, including active listening and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; actively cooperates and supports the work of others; ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background; empathetic and aware of impact on others; and strong problem-solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical ability, and demonstrated attention to detail; ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner; and ability to manage short and competing deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
