This position requires on-site work on a regular weekly basis.

Involves oversight of the following key areas/applications:

  • Epic Radiant
  • Epic Cupid
  • Cardiology Applications

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines optimal deployment of resources to meet schedules and attain goals. Provides guidance to subordinates to accomplish objectives and achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Erroneous decisions or failure to adhere to objectives results in additional costs and serious delays in overall schedules. Recognized leader and subject matter expert of one or more clinical applications. Provides leadership and coordinates support for associated interfaces and systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of relevant content experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification:
    • Current Epic Radiant certification or completed within 6 months of hire
    • Current Epic Cupid certification or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and delegate clinical applications work efficiently, with strong human resources management skills and knowledge. Ability to adapt to evolving priorities in a fast paced health system
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing IT professionals and collaborating with clinicians. Proven managerial skills in planning and delegating work, deploying staff, resource management, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior management on operational and performance issues in developing goals, objectives, policies, strategies, quality improvement programs, systems for monitoring and ensuring user competence on Imaging Applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train users and to successfully manage extensive cross-functional interactions between the Imaging Applications team, users, related personnel, and outside vendors. Ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise, and specific manner with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Cultivates a strong commitment to quality and achievement of goals. Conveys empathy when facing uncertainty, ensuring inclusivity, and allowing for curiosity and dissent to get to the final outcome. Effectively work across teams from different disciplines to achieve complex work.

License/Certification:

  • Current Epic Radiant certification or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Current Epic Cupid certification or completed within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the Imaging systems, including planning, design, development, testing, system integration, programming, data integrity and security, and user support and training.
  • Strong critical-thinking, project-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret complex data and systems, to quickly identify problems and implement solutions. Understand what AI can and cannot do, its data dependencies, and key models (LLMs, generative AI, predictive analytics).
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare information technology, clinical workflow and processes and medical terminology. Comprehensive understanding of Imaging Applications and integration with clinical processes and workflows.

Salary Information


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.


Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
