A Brief Overview The Dietary Cashier performs various cashier duties involving collecting funds, issuing receipts, and daily balancing of cash drawer. Assists in setting up for cafeteria service.
What you will do
- Arrive on time and prepared to begin working.
- Sign in on time sheet, in proper uniform, no earlier or later than 5 minutes before or after the beginning of your shift.
- Report to supervisor on duty to receive specifics of the day.
- Report to assigned work station within 10 minutes of start of shift.
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures for customer services.
- Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
- Respond to requests and concerns from customers as soon as you are notified.
- Maintain an accurate balance in the cash drawer on a daily basis.
- Verify bank at beginning of shift.
- Follow accurate menu pricing.
- Verify change exchanges.
- Follow cash out procedures with manager or supervisor.
- Assist in preparing required reports.
- Practice safe work procedures in the department.
- Wear appropriate uniform.
- Maintain established department of safety, environmental and infection control.
- Assist in miscellaneous food preparation duties as required.
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
Experience Qualifications
- At least six (6) months related job experience Required
Skills and Abilities
- Good communication/interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read English and write English legibly.
- Must be able to relate to patients, parents, relatives, hospital/dietary and personnel in a tactful, service oriented manner.
- Ability to use decimal and fractions.
- Ability to operate cash register, make change, and read price lists.

$23.51 - $26.45 Hourly
