Position Title:Director Finance Systems Department:Enterprise Business Solutions Job Description:

The Director, Finance Systems owns the operational management and continuous improvement of OU Health finance platforms, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution and related third-party applications and integrations. The role ensures reliable day-to-day support for Accounts Payable, Accounting, Finance, Budgeting, and Treasury while leading a structured intake and prioritization process for enhancements. This position is accountable for finance data governance, data integrity, and end-to-end data lineage from source systems through reporting, and maintains alignment between system configuration and standardized finance processes. In partnership with the IT PMO and key stakeholders, the Director leads upgrades, enhancements, and implementations, manages vendor/third-party delivery, and advances a multi-year technology roadmap through innovation and measurable business value. The Director leads a team of analysts/consultants and drives a customer-focused service model, strong controls, and adoption of changes across the organization.

  • Owns the operational management of OU Health finance systems, ensuring reliable functionality, support, and continuous optimization.

  • Leads financial data governance (Master and Reference Data), partnering with business owners to define data standards, stewardship, and controls.

  • Ensures finance data integrity across core systems and interfaces by establishing monitoring, audits, issue remediation, and quality metrics.

  • Defines and maintains the finance data architecture and end-to-end data lineage from source systems through reporting and analytics (including Workday FDM and related data domains).

  • Defines and maintains end-to-end finance process architecture and documentation, mapping process steps to enabling system capabilities.

  • Partners with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to align system configuration and business processes, ensuring consistent execution and compliance.

  • Engages leaders to gather strategic and tactical requirements and translate them into a prioritized systems and data backlog.

  • Owns and communicates the long-term vision and roadmap for the financial management platform and related technologies.

  • Leads upgrades, enhancements, and implementations in partnership with the IT PMO, including scope, timelines, testing, cutover, and adoption.

  • Drives innovation by evaluating new technologies and recommending improvements aligned to business strategy and operational value.

  • Manages direct reports through performance management, coaching, and development to maintain a highly skilled, service-oriented team.

  • Oversees vendor/third-party partners delivering implementation or application support services, ensuring quality and accountability.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Business or other related field

Experience: At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 2 or more years in Finance or Accounting

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s): Workday Pro Finance certification, or obtain within 12 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of finance systems strategy and roadmap practices, including capability planning, prioritization, and aligning technology investments to business outcomes.

  • Skill in analytical problem-solving and root-cause analysis for system, integration, data, and reporting issues, including developing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Skill in program/project and change management for enterprise finance systems, including planning, testing coordination, release readiness, cutover, training, and adoption.

  • Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, IT, and vendors) and communicate complex topics clearly through presentations, written materials, and governance forums.

  • Knowledge of core Finance and Accounting processes (e.g., AP, GL, budgeting, treasury) and the controls and data flows supported by ERP and related applications.

  • Knowledge of finance data governance and data quality disciplines (Master/Reference/Transaction data, dimensions, lineage), including defining standards, stewardship roles, and monitoring routines.

  • Knowledge of security, privacy, and audit concepts for finance systems (role-based access, segregation of duties, compliance expectations, and evidence/audit trails).

  • Skill in operating a customer-focused support model for finance systems, including intake/prioritization, incident/problem management, release management, documentation, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to define and use operational and outcome metrics (e.g., SLAs/OLAs, data quality KPIs, defect trends, adoption) to guide prioritization, performance improvement, and vendor accountability.

  • Ability to lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team, including coaching, performance management, workforce planning, and effective allocation of internal and external resources.

  • Knowledge of system delivery lifecycles (requirements through release), including testing disciplines, integration considerations, and familiarity with agile practices and SaaS/ERP operating models.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel/PowerPoint) and finance reporting/analytics tools to validate data, analyze trends, and support leadership decision-making.

  • Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and resilience, with the ability to perform effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
