We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer for a part-time, on-call position. This role requires availability for approximately 24 hours per week over a 3-6 month period. Responsibilities include supporting firewall operations, troubleshooting, and ensuring network security. Candidates must be willing to undergo background and drug testing. Immediate start required. The Engineer designs and implements firewall solutions, performs upgrades, monitors security, collaborates with IT teams, and mentors junior engineers. Responsibilities: * Design and implement firewall solutions to meet business requirements. * Perform firewall upgrades and migrations. * Monitor firewall security and implement security measures. * Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure network security and performance. * Train and mentor junior firewall engineers. * Document firewall configurations and changes. * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills * Strong communication and collaboration skills. Skills: * Years and Type of Required Experience: 3+ years of experience firewall management (Palo Alto preferred) * Advanced understanding in Ticketing systems. Understanding of network security principles and firewall technologies. * (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, ping, tracert, ipconfig/ifconfig). (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RDP, VNC, ping, tracert, ipconfig/ifconfig, VLAN, VPN, Packet Tracer, Wireshark). * Basic understanding of Python/Ansible for building and maintaining scripts. Proficient in configuring and managing firewalls, routers, and switches. * Experience with network security protocols and VPN technologies. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network security issues * Combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree. Education: Required Education: Associate's degree Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree Licensing/ Certification * Licensure/Certification Required: Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA) or Practitioner (PCCSP) CompTIA Security+ * Licensure/Certification Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) NTS is a drug-free workplace.
