SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Under close supervision, assists with the handling of hazardous materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

1. Follows procedures with exactness to assist with labeling of hazardous materials.
2. Assists with inventory and proper storage of little complexity of hazardous materials.
3. Completes paperwork required for transporting hazardous materials.
4. Work follows established guidelines and precedents and guidance is obtained from coordinator or supervisor regarding problems.
5. Ensures employees' safe handling of hazardous materials.
6. Performs other duties and tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Education equivalent to a High School Diploma with one year of previous related experience.
* Knowledge of local chemical waste regulations and compliance.
* Basic knowledge of transportation rules and regulations of chemical waste.
* Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve moderately complex problems.
* Ability to read and interpret industry related reports and data.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
* Ability to work well as a team member.
* Basic math skills.
* Ability to train and coach team members.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Environmental waste management and compliance experience.

COMMENTS

Infectious Control Risk Category II:

The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs. Risk category II states employment and procedures that may require exposure.
