IT Intern / Application Developer

We are seeking an entry-level IT Intern / Application Developer to join our Chicago-based team. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience across internal IT systems, user support, and foundational software development.

During the 3–4 month internship, you will work closely with our Lead IT Engineer to learn our systems, tools, and workflows. You will begin by supporting internal IT operations and gradually take on more responsibility, including exposure to software development projects - primarily within our Salesforce or Node.js/React and AI assisted development.

This role is ideal for someone interested in a long-term career that blends IT systems support and application development.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide day-to-day help desk support for internal employees
  • Support macOS and Windows laptop users
  • Assist with device provisioning, inventory management, and lifecycle tracking
  • Help manage identity and access tasks, including MFA setup and credential resets (CTAP2, FIDO2, Secure Enclave, Windows Hello for Business)
  • Learn and support core systems including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, AWS, Fortigate firewall, and Atlassian Cloud
  • Provide backup IT coverage when the Lead IT Engineer is unavailable
  • Assist with IT security and compliance-related tasks
  • Contribute to internal documentation and process improvements
  • Gain exposure to and assist with software development projects (primarily Salesforce-based applications)

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Interest in IT systems, support, and/or software development
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic familiarity with macOS or Windows operating systems
  • Ability to work on-site in our West Loop office (with potential for hybrid transition)
  • Interest in transitioning to a full-time role after the internship
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across IT support and development tasks

Nice to Have:

  • Experience troubleshooting macOS or Windows systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, AWS, or identity/authentication systems
  • Coursework or hands-on experience in software development
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript)
  • Experience with front-end and/or back-end application development

 

Employee Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is hourly for the internship period. This will move to salaried at the beginning for full-time employment.
