POSITION SUMMARYOversee regional distribution center performance across multiple distribution locations, ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time fulfillment to customers. Lead network execution and continuous improvement across receiving, inventory accuracy, order processing, outbound shipping, routing, and delivery service. Manage large-scale distribution initiatives such as facility transitions, capacity additions, and integration of new acquisitions in partnership with cross functional teams, while building high-engagement teams that consistently deliver service, productivity, and cost targets. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead regional distribution center performance to consistently meet customer service expectations, on-time delivery, and fill-rate targets
  • Manage and participate in distribution integrations, facility transitions, network changes, and special projects that improve service and capacity
  • Own regional distribution KPIs (throughput, dock-to-stock, order cycle time, inventory accuracy, damage, OTIF/fill rate) and drive daily management routines to sustain results
  • Develop labor plans and staffing models (including seasonal/peak planning), balancing service, safety, and cost while ensuring adequate training and coverage across shifts
  • Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to optimize WMS/ERP/TMS processes (RF scanning, slotting, replenishment, pick paths, wave planning) and ensure accurate reporting and transaction discipline
  • Manage transportation execution and carrier/fleet performance (tender acceptance, routing guide adherence, claims, utilization) and drive freight and delivery cost improvements without compromising service by optimizing route planning, and leveraging the appropriate freight partners
  • Lead inventory control programs (cycle counting, root-cause analysis, adjustments governance) to minimize shrink, damage, and obsolescence and improve inventory accuracy
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, and Supply Planning to resolve service issues, manage escalations, and execute service recovery plans when disruptions occur
  • Establish and audit SOPs and standard work for key distribution processes; ensure onboarding, training, and certification programs are executed consistently across sites
  • Develop and manage operating budgets; identify and justify capital investments (material handling equipment, automation, racking, IT) to support capacity and productivity improvements
  • Lead contingency planning and incident response for disruptions (weather, system downtime, labor constraints), maintaining business continuity and clear stakeholder communication
  • Direct end-to-end distribution execution (receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, dispatch, routing, delivery, inventory control, and returns) to determine equipment, facility, and staffing needs
  • Stay current on distribution concepts, techniques, and technologies to strengthen standard work, improve throughput, accuracy, and delivery performance, and scale best practices across the network
  • Monitor distribution and transportation activities to ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations (including DOT requirements where applicable)
  • Review and manage safety and loss prevention programs across distribution centers and fleet operations

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 7 years warehouse and/or distribution experience
  • 3 years supervisory/management experience
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Knowledgeable in material handling and inventory documentation
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and legal requirements for drivers
  • Ability to understand, review and complete budgets
  • Effective communicator to a wide range of people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to deal with a variety of situations and make decisions and adjustments as unexpected situations arise
  • Ability to deal with customers and suppliers
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety and OSHA requirements
  • Ability to project a positive image to customers
  • Demonstrated product, technical and customer service knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in applicable computer software
  • Ability to travel with short notice

Preferred:

  • Experience leading multi-site distribution operations, including transportation/fleet and/or common carrier management
  • Proficiency with WMS and transportation systems (TMS), labor management, and KPI dashboards/reporting
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification/experience (5S, standard work, kaizen, root-cause)
  • Experience with slotting strategy, inventory optimization, and cycle count program leadership
