Job Responsibilities

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing all financial operations for a complex, multi-site global manufacturing enterprise. As a core member of the executive leadership team, the CFO serves as a strategic business partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, driving financial performance, operational excellence, and longterm enterprise value. The CFO provides strategic direction for financial planning, capital structure, investments, risk management, and cost optimization, while ensuring strong governance, compliance, and financial controls. Oversee all company accounting practices including internal and external reporting, preparing budgets, tax filings and audit functions. Directs financial strategy, planning and forecast while conferring with CEO and operating VP Business Managers. Supervises investment and raising of capital funds for the business. Leads interface with investor community and develops and direct investor relations strategy. Studies, analyzes and reports on trends and opportunities for expansion along with the projection of future company growth indicators.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board, contributing to overall corporate strategy, long-range planning, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Oversight of internal control structure that assures integrity of financial statements and ability to adhere with Sarbanes-Oxley attestation requirements.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO and the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board and Audit Committee as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to drive improved financial performance across all aspects of the business.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments.
  • Manage capital structure, including cash management, debt facilities, credit agreements, and banking relationships.
  • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter.
  • Evaluation of the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field. CPA preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience in a public manufacturing company; at least 5 years in a senior executive or divisional finance role.
  • Experience leading finance function of a multi-national business with at least $1B in revenue that is publicly listed or a division of a publicly listed company.
  • Extensive experience preparing and delivering presentations to board and investor community with an executive presence that instills confidence through a command of the subject matter.
  • Proven ability to effectively influence, build trust, communicate, and interact with all levels of the organization and outside stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate highly developed business acumen, solid strategic planning, and in-depth knowledge of financial strategies and processes
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics in a simplified manner for a non-technical audience.
  • Dynamic team building skills; ability to inspire team members to deliver outstanding results
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to an evolving business landscape that will result in rapidly shifting priorities and resource needs.
  • Ability to balance the demands of managing tactical day-to-day financial management with sophisticated long-term strategic decision making.
  • Projects a leadership style that exhibits high energy; is above reproach on issues of integrity and trust; exhibits strategic thinking and ability to execute tactically
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with business transformations.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Willing to travel up to 20%
