Job Title: Customer Service B Rate Range: $40.72 - $41.41 USD Hourly Job Summary To receive and perform customer/company work requests related to providing natural gas service. The primary job responsibilities relate to inspecting meter settings, and service/house lines on customer premises and inspecting gas appliances for proper installation and combustion of natural gas. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs and removes meters and regulators
- Tests for leakage using leak detection equipment/instruments or pressure drop equipment
- Reads gauges/test instruments and evaluates results
- Reads meter dials, turns gas on and off with curb key/wrenches
- Communicates with customers, contractors and plumbers on house line installations and advises on gas appliances and consumption of natural gas
- Uses computer terminal to access and input data, porta processor and other technology to complete assigned job functions
- Inspects and places in service gas appliances and red tags appliances according to policies and procedures and other natural gas related codes and standards
- Ascends and descends stairs, climbs ladders, and enters crawl spaces to access appliances
- May handle hazardous wastes
- Works collection orders and processes payments
- Completes other duties as assigned and accepts temporary assignments in operations
- Exposed to all weather conditions
- Performs job functions in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and procedures and other natural gas related codes and standards
- Timely and accurate completion of assigned job functions and paperwork
- Excellent customer service
- Successful development of critical job knowledge skills
Required Qualifications for Position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Pass applicable aptitude/skills and strength test
- Pass drug test and physical
- Complete basic service training during their probation period. After two years must successfully pass the A test
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Experience in field operations within natural gas industry
- Experience in plumbing trade and /or HVAC trades
- Safe driving record
