The Central Texas Resources Real Estate PM/Lead guides and advances HDR's ROW services across Central Texas in the power and energy markets. This leadership role focuses on aligning technical capabilities with market demands, delivering projects with excellence, and building strong internal and external partnerships. The position supports both day-to-day project execution and long-term strategic growth, ensuring the ROW practice remains responsive, respected, and resilient across market sectors.

Responsibilities

In the role of Central Texas Resources Real Estate PM/Lead, we'll count on you to:

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with real estate staff, project managers, power delivery engineering, and operations leadership to support project execution and internal alignment.
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison to allow clear communication and effective resource coordination across departments.
  • Identify project needs and collaborate on recruitment strategies to strengthen ROW staffing capacity.
    Equip staff with the tools, training, and mentorship necessary to support their growth and performance.
  • Collaborate with leadership to forecast workload, align staffing plans, and optimize team utilization.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to confirm accountability and continuous development.
  • Assist in local and national strategic pursuits and supporting proposal development.
  • Collaborate with Area leadership to shape and implement effective capture strategies.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert and provide guidance on contract and delivery-related risk management.
  • Expand HDR's presence in the market by cultivating strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to grow services with existing and new clients.
  • Represent HDR at local, regional, and national industry conferences to elevate the firm's visibility and thought leadership in real estate services.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of real estate projects across multiple market sectors.
  • Oversee budgets, QA/QC, schedules, and deliverables on Resource Real Estate projects.
  • Collaborate with power delivery staff to evaluate and optimize real estate team processes and procedures to develop efficiencies in the workflow.
  • Confirm all managed projects meet HDR's standards for quality, safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor project scopes, contracts, and schedules to mitigate risk and avoid scope creep or delays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Texas Real Estate License
  • Minimum of 10 years of recent, directly relevant experience in right-of-way acquisition, land rights, or real estate services for power and energy infrastructure. Experience must include:
    • Leading multi-disciplinary ROW projects from initiation through closeout.
    • Developing and executing pursuit strategies in competitive utility markets.
    • Coaching, mentoring, or managing staff in a project or program setting.
    • Professional certification or licensure preferred (e.g., SR/WA, Notary).
    • Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse teams, guiding strategic initiatives, and delivering technical excellence.
    • Strong alignment with HDR's values and commitment to a collaborative, employee-owned culture.
  • SR/WA Designation with the International Right of Way Association
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
