Job Description

The hours for this position are Monday - Thursday, 7:45am - 4:45pm and a rotating four-hour Friday shift.

The Shipping Department at Promega's Kepler facility is known for maintaining a clean, well-organized warehouse environment. YOUR ROLE:

As a Shipping Specialist 1, you'll be the backbone of our daily operations, processing orders with precision and care. You'll work four 9-hour days (Monday through Thursday, 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM) plus a rotating Friday 4-hour shift, giving you consistent schedule predictability. You'll start with our simplest orders, then expand your skills as you gain confidence. Your accuracy matters more than speed here, and you'll be trained on our specialized equipment, including stand-up forklifts, order pickers, and our innovative minus-20 carousel and vertical lift modules that keep you comfortable year-round. No long stretches in freezing temperatures, just smart technology and team support.

JOB OBJECTIVE: Coordinate literature and material to fulfill deliveries daily. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Independently handle day to day tasks and introductory SAP transactions including order processing and inventory management.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Correctly sort, pull and stage domestic or international deliveries at appropriate temperature.

2. Confirm and ship domestic or international deliveries in SAP.

3. Correctly route all orders.

4. Actively participate in workplace organization and follow organization standards to maintain a clean, safe work environment.

5. Ability to recognize a problem and bring it to the Supervisor's attention.

6. Effectively communicate with people from other departments.

7. Work with Materials Management to reserve product.

8. Assist in physical inventory.

9. Use Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).

10. Assist in consolidating and managing inventory.

11. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

12. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.

13. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role.

2. Accuracy in completing orders is critical.

3. Must be a team player with effective communication skills.

4. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Prior shipping or inventory experience.

2. Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.

3. Previous PIT experience.

4. Willingness to receive training to operate PIT.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

2. Ability to move one's person easily and consistently.

3. Ability to remain stationary for multiple hours at a time.

4. Ability to move throughout a warehouse environment for multiple hours at a time.

5. Ability to work with a computer in an interactive manner for extended periods of time.
