| Primary Responsibilities |
The Associate School Director for Undergraduate Programs is responsible for the daily operations of the
BSN,
ABSN, and RN-
BSN programs within the School of Nursing. The Associate School Director for Undergraduate Programs works closely with the Director of the School of Nursing to achieve the school's mission and goals while maintaining the values and philosophy. Specific activities, which facilitate this role, include:
1. Leadership and General Administration
- Supervises, supports, evaluates, and provides guidance to undergraduate Program Directors in the School of Nursing.
- Serves as the Program Administrator for the Kentucky Board of Nursing
- Facilitates undergraduate leadership meetings
- Develops the fall, spring, and summer course schedules in consultation with the Program Directors.
- Assigns faculty workload each semester.
- Accountable for conflict resolution with faculty.
- Accountable for conflict resolution with students when elevated above the Program Director level.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations for undergraduate nursing faculty.
- Provides regular updates at the School of Nursing meetings.
- Hires adjunct faculty in consultation with the School Director.
- Works with Program Directors to maintain curricular and program evaluation documents for accreditation.
2. Coordination and Communication within the School, University, and Community
- Ensures the School Director, Program Directors, faculty, staff, and students are appropriately informed.
- Works with School Director and Development Director to showcase the undergraduate programs.
- Works with the CHHS Advising Center to ensure appropriate advising for students.
- Participates in recruitment events for undergraduate nursing programs.
- Collaborates with Associate Director of Graduate Programs as needed.
3. Management of Resources
- Collaborates with the School Director on the implementation and revision of student fees.
- Facilitates the recruitment and orientation of adjunct faculty.
- Provides leadership and resources to faculty in pursuing research and scholarly activities in collaboration with the School Director.
- Works with the School Director to determine the revenues and expenditures in the school budget.
4. Teaching/Service/Research
- Participates in teaching 5-6 credit hours over the course of the year.
- Participates in scholarship according to specialty and interests, as able
- Participates in Admission, Progression, Graduation Committee, BSN Curriculum, BSN Program Evaluation Committee, BSN Leadership Team, as well as University and community service as available, where applicable
