Position Overview
The Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, reconfiguring, and quality testing point-of-sale (POS) hardware devices in a fast-paced warehouse repair environment.
This is a hands-on bench technician role focused on hardware-level repair at the SMD, IC, and component level. The ideal candidate is comfortable opening devices, replacing internal components, performing rework, re-imaging units, and documenting all repair activity accurately in internal systems.
This is not a cloud IT or help desk role. Success in this position requires mechanical aptitude, electronics repair experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent throughput while meeting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose malfunctioning POS terminals and related electronic devices
- Perform component-level troubleshooting (SMD, IC, board-level repair)
- Replace defective internal components, boards, connectors, and subassemblies
- Perform PCB rework in accordance with engineering specifications
- Rework assembled equipment according to updated engineering change orders
Testing & Configuration
- Test repaired devices using proprietary diagnostic and testing systems
- Download and configure firmware, operating systems, and required applications
- Perform system re-imaging and configuration
- Conduct final QA testing to ensure product meets quality standards before release
Documentation & Process Compliance
- Accurately document all repair actions and support incidents in internal systems
- Log inventory usage and track product movement within assigned workstation
- Maintain accurate repair records and daily progress reports
- Follow all production specifications and established operational procedures
Lean & Productivity Contribution
- Contribute to lean initiatives aimed at increasing productivity and reducing waste
- Maintain consistent repair throughput while preserving quality
- Identify process inefficiencies and communicate improvements when appropriate
Tools & Equipment Usage
Utilize tools including but not limited to:
- Soldering station
- PCB rework station
- Heat plate
- Electric screwdriver
- Torque gauge/tester
- Ionizing air gun
- Compressed air system
- Proprietary testing systems
- Label printer
- Digital caliper
- Electric scale
- Scanner
- Windows-based PC systems
Workstation & Safety
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Follow safety protocols and ESD procedures
- Manage and track workstation inventory responsibly
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret:

- Testing software prompts and instructions
- Strong mechanical and electronic troubleshooting ability

- Comfortable performing repetitive technical work

- Proficient in MiS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on electronics repair experience preferred
- Chip-level or component-level repair experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in a repair lab, manufacturing, or production environment preferred
