Athletic Trainer

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) to join our Texas EHS Ergonomics and Early Symptom Intervention (ESI) Team. Athletic Trainers are a critical part of the organization, providing active support to the Manufacturing Operations team. This is a unique role based on customer and production needs that further supports Tesla's commitment to the overall safety and well-being of our employees. This role works closely with EHS partners in maintaining a safe work environment. In addition to performing Industrial Athletic Training responsibilities and implementing all components of the Early Symptom Intervention Program, they will support day-to-day EHS operations including enhancing employee engagement and driving continuous improvement of overall EHS processes and systems.

• Provide case management and therapeutic interventions for musculoskeletal discomfort while adhering to the OSHA first-aid guidelines
• Provide orthopedic injury assessments, including but not limited to, history, observation, palpation, range of motion, manual muscle strength, reflex testing, myotomes, dermatomes, and special tests
• Perform assessments and interventions on the factory floor and lineside with employees
• Coordinate care and communicate with necessary on-site medical personnel/teams
• Electronic documentation for all interactions which may include reports, newsletters, or training materials
• Develop and lead group and individual training sessions focusing on functional movement patterns, specific job simulations, and educational programs for occupational health/safety
• Support EHS, ergonomics and project management initiatives to EHSS programs to success

• Degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program, or equivalent experience. Board Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC); State Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Minimum 1 year ATC (Certified Athletic Trainer) working experience
• Current First Aid and AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) Basic Life support for health care providers certification is required. Ability to respond to employee health emergencies and/or activate emergency procedures
• Basic understanding of general Manufacturing Safety/OSHA 1910 Standards preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills along with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform standing or walking work for the duration of the shift and flexibility with work schedules
• Excellent communication, customer service, team work, and collaboration skills
