Job Summary

The Tech Support Specialist - IT Project Deployment is a critical field-facing role within the Grady Health System IT Project Office (IT PMO). This specialist serves as the primary hands-on technical resource embedded within the capital project delivery process, responsible for end-to-end management of IT equipment across the project lifecycle - from initial inventory intake through post-activation support.

This role operates in direct support of the IT PMO's active capital project portfolio, which spans 30+ concurrent initiatives annually across Grady's enterprise network, including clinical environments, ancillary departments, and administrative facilities. The specialist partners closely with assigned Project Managers, clinical stakeholders, facilities teams, and vendor representatives to ensure technology deployments are executed on schedule, within scope, and with minimal disruption to patient care and clinical operations.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience will be considered.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on IT field technician, desktop support, or hardware deployment experience

  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise endpoint imaging (SCCM, Intune, WDS, or equivalent)

  • Experience managing hardware inventory, asset tracking, or equipment staging in a multi-project or multi-site environment

  • Proven ability to execute physical IT deployments including workstations, peripherals, printers, and mounted displays

  • Experience supporting end users in a technical support or help desk capacity

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a healthcare IT environment, with understanding of clinical workflow sensitivities and HIPAA data handling requirements

  • Experience supporting Epic or other major EHR/EMR deployments

  • Capital project or construction coordination experience in a healthcare or enterprise setting

  • Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms (ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent)

  • Familiarity with CMDB management and IT asset lifecycle processes

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CompTIA A+ (required or obtained within 12 months of hire)

  • CompTIA Network+ (preferred)

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (preferred)

  • ITIL Foundation (preferred)

  • HDI Support Center Analyst or equivalent (preferred)
