Position: Processing Material Handler Pay Rate

$27.59 per hour + $1.75 per hour shift differential

Schedule
  • Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
  • Monday & Tuesday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Job Description General Summary

The Processing Material Handler will support the processing and packaging teams in the production/warehouse area while following all company safety rules and regulations as it relates to the job.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain all Dental and Orajel lines with product
  • Scrape all dental totes running on the lines to ensure maximum product fill
  • Remove and replace totes from production lines
  • Weigh empty and partial totes and supply the weight tape to the line LRO
  • Provide the right product and approvals to the line leads
  • Provide Nair totes and approvals to line #15
  • Provide fragrance and approvals to line #16 and return unused fragrance to the flammable room and scan into WMS
  • Use WMS to look up fragrance and totes needed for production to ensure FIFO is being followed
  • Support the unloading and switching procedures of bulk bicarbonate truck
  • Responsible for washing dental product totes according to proper procedures
  • Assist with the scrap disposal truck
  • Remove and separate empty preweighed drums from the work area, sending desired drums back to preweigh dental and the remainder to the drum truck for disposal
  • Perform daily scale checks
  • Supply virgin 70% IPA to the Orajel room and used IPA to the nondental side as needed
  • Perform and document weekly checklists and/or area cleanings as assigned by the supervisor
  • Support the packaging operation with line supply or product removal as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment such as weight scales and surrounding tank areas by mopping floors; remove garbage and dispose of it in appropriate areas
  • Organize the tote area and maintain the tote washroom in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Maintain the dental area in a clean and organized condition
  • Collect and weigh all purge buckets from all lines
  • Sign all paperwork sheets for all tote changes
  • Participate in all jobrelated safety training and personally comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Receive general orientation, jobspecific, and refresher training related to hazardous chemicals handled while performing job duties
  • Remove and provide flavor drums to the LPD
  • Perform LPD washouts when product changes are needed
  • Perform washouts to flavor LPD lines and provide purge samples to the laboratory
  • Purge LPD base line to start line production
  • Comply with all NJ laws and company policies and procedures while sampling, unloading, preweighing, transferring, and/or handling hazardous chemicals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must speak, read, and write English
  • Must have a valid forklift driver's license or show past certification
  • Ability to palletize 50-100 lb bags and up to 500 lb drums
  • Basic math skills including calculations of weights and temperatures
  • Basic personal computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas and workrelated issues effectively
  • Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Highly selfmotivated and comfortable working independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and demonstrate strict adherence to environmental and safety regulatory requirements, monitoring, and documentation
  • Must be cleanshaven at all times per respirator fittesting policy
  • Required to wear a respirator for certain job functions and must pass an annual respiratory fit test
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment handling chemicals and/or gases
  • Must clear a respiratory fit test to wear a respirator (required)
Physical Requirements
  • Daily exposure to seasonal weather temperatures, including extremes of heat and cold
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to tolerate wearing a fullface respirator and pass a pulmonary fitness test
  • Required use of PPE including gloves, protective arm shields, apron, goggles/face shield, dust mask, and/or fullface respirator
