Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Analyst I Corporate position responsible for ensuring artwork and advertisements are legally compliant for all of Niagara, LLC. This role is responsible for reviewing current and proposed regulations, communicating and implementing the necessary changes to ensure continued compliance with state and federal labeling regulations and company policies.

Essential Functions

Labels and Advertisement

  • Review and approve all new and revised domestic water and beverage artwork and advertising material for technical and grammatical accuracy to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate with customers and the cross functional team to ensure that all label changes are accurately incorporated in final artwork.
  • Evaluate supplier ingredient information to verify product compliance against Company standards, labeling law and regulations.
  • Determine regulatory status of ingredients
  • Review acceptability and regulatory status of new and revised product development formulas to ensure US market compliance.
  • Develop accurate nutrition facts panels and ingredient statements utilizing ESHA Genesis software.
  • Collaborate with Product Development team to ensure nutritionals are expressed correctly and compliant with domestic market requirements.
  • Understand the State beverage container deposit laws (Bottle Bills) to ensure our products are compliant.
  • Review beverage BOMs to ensure finished goods are compliant and customer specifications are met.
  • Communicate all non-compliances to the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Manager and suggest corrective actions.
  • Communicate with customers and the cross functional team to ensure that all label changes are accurately incorporated in final artwork.
  • Function independently as a decision-maker on domestic labeling regulatory issues and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Manage kosher certifications, applications and supporting documents for ingredients and products.
  • Handle other certifications as needed (How2Recycle, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO...)
  • Provide support and project management assistance in implementing strategic labeling initiatives and other compliance related initiatives as needed.
  • Has a general understanding of QA and Compliance documentation and is able to understand and complete Sales and C12ustomer requests as needed.
  • Creates internal SOPs and participates in the internal review process of SOPs
  • Support Compliance Department initiatives by testing new systems, completing research and other tasks as needed.
  • Conduct Compliance research as needed.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal labeling requirements for water and beverages.
  • Stay abreast of state and federal regulations by understanding the existing and emerging regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive rapport and working relationship within and across departments.

  • Minimum Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Science or other science related field
  • Preferred:
    • Master's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Science or other related field

  • Preferred: Regulatory Affairs, Domestic Regulatory Affairs, or Regulatory Affairs Essentials

Foreign Language

  • Required: None Required
  • Preferred: Elementary Proficiency in Spanish
