Pay:

Full Care competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary for this position is from $65,000-$75,000, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Position Overview:

The Field Operations Manager (FOM) is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily execution of all landscape maintenance, installation, and enhancement services. This position bridges strategic goals with on-the-ground production by leading, mentoring, and scheduling field crews to ensure every property meets high-quality standards while remaining within labor and material budgets. The FOM manages teams of landscape professionals, coordinates all aspects of field operations, and maintains strong client satisfaction through consistent service delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating and maintaining exceptional outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations & Project Execution
  • Lead and manage landscape maintenance, installation, and enhancement crews to ensure efficient operations and high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement landscape maintenance plans that meet client specifications, enhance property aesthetics, and align with company standards.
  • Coordinate and manage project scheduling to ensure timely completion, efficient routing, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Monitor daily production, job progress, and workmanship, providing real-time guidance and hands-on support to field teams.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to evaluate landscape conditions, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure scope compliance.
Production & Efficiency
  • Execute weekly and monthly labor planning to ensure operations remain within forecasted labor hours, costs, and productivity targets.
  • Maintain a strong field presence, spending approximately 75% of the workday with crews to evaluate performance, reinforce standards, and deliver hands-on coaching.
  • Monitor job costs and conduct ongoing production and budget reviews to maximize efficiency and minimize unbillable labor.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, and materials; coordinate ordering and ensure resources are available to support daily operations.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Hire, onboard, train, and evaluate field staff while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop team members on best practices in landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and customer service.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and support professional growth within the field organization.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company safety programs, including daily Stretch & Flex routines, gate checks, and jobsite safety protocols.
  • Ensure all crews properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, supervision, and consistent enforcement.
Client Relations & Quality Control
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and proactive service management.
  • Address client concerns and service issues promptly to maintain satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure consistent service excellence across all properties and projects.

Key Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop teams.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in commercial landscape maintenance or a related green industry field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and safety protocols
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective coordination with crew members and account managers.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality in every aspect of the role.
  • Ability to obtain Landscape Technician certification within six months of employment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Minimum of 3 years in landscape management or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with industry software tools (e.g., Greenius Software Training)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant advantage.
