The Biostatistics Center is seeking a full-time Biostatistician I to work at a data coordinating center for clinical trials. The Biostatistician I will be responsible for the conduct of statistical analyses for ongoing studies (interim and primary) or existing analyses (started and not completed. The Biostatistician will also perform statistical review of other study manuscripts, and may assist with study design and project management and oversight throughout phases of a clinical study including implementation, conduct, and closeout. A Biostatistician I participates as a member of a team of academic Biostatisticians and Epidemiologists who collaborate in the conduct of major clinical trials. Ability to utilize previous work experiences to work effectively with both creativity and latitude is expected for success in this role.
Duties most typically performed by the Biostatistician I include the following:
-Preparing datasets for analysis, and conducting data analysis using advanced statistical procedures using
SAS under supervision of senior staff.
-Creating programming analyses related macros using
SAS or R.
-Developing and maintaining reporting systems using
SAS.
-Performing data management (auditing, editing & analysis) and quality control of study databases.
-Collaborating in the development of analytical plans for addressing selected research questions.
-Documenting any new processes and procedures created in the above tasks.
-Collaborating in the design of studies and with medical investigators to implement methods in collaboration with Center faculty.
-Conducts training for new study sites.
-Participating in project development from beginning to end. Participating as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of programmers and researchers to ensure deliverables are completed efficiently.
-Contribute to portions of abstracts, posters, reports and manuscripts for major publications in leading health, medical and other journals and presentations of results.
-Manages study website content and provides technical support.
