Engineering Apprentice (Part-Time)

Build real-world engineering experience-both in the office and on the shop floor.
JCI Industries is a leading provider of engineered solutions for pumps, motors, and industrial equipment, and we're looking for an Engineering Apprentice to support our engineering and operations teams. This part-time role offers hands-on exposure to both technical design and shop processes, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to bridge the gap between engineering concepts and real-world application.

Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20-25/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do



  • Assist the engineering team with drawings, documentation, and project support
  • Help create and update CAD drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for engineering projects
  • Collaborate with shop personnel to understand fabrication, machining, and repair processes
  • Assist with inspections, measurements, and quality checks of components and assemblies
  • Help track project progress, materials, and job documentation
  • Maintain organized records, files, and engineering documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures in both office and shop environments


What You'll Need



  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree or certification in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Interest in industrial equipment, manufacturing, or mechanical systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both office and shop teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)


Bonus (Not Required):



  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on mechanical/shop experience
  • Familiarity with pumps, motors, or rotating equipment
  • Exposure to manufacturing or repair environments
