What You'll Be Doing:

• Managing field hardware quality for SynopsysHAVproducts
• Monitoring field quality dataandmetrics such as RMA rates, MTBF, and product reliability.
• Owning failure analysisof fieldreturned hardware, maintaining SLA on FA, and ensuring accurate entry of FA information in the RMA database.
• Analyzing RMAdata, Failure Analysis, and Repair data to identify trends and raise quality excursions, collaborating withmulti disciplinaryengineering teams to validate resolution plans.
• Drivingimprovement,containment and mitigation plans for quality alerts, troubleshooting failures from system to PCBA/mechanical component level.
• Conducting component-level troubleshooting and repair with supply chain partners, reviewing and approving failure analysis results, and maintaining design for reliability/service guides.
• Publishing external-facing Failure Analysis Reports
• Leading field hardware quality meetings with key stakeholders, including senior management and customer support teams.

• Enhancing and scaling up FA testing and automation, deploying standardized processes at global suppliers, and managing component-level supplier FA as needed
• Oversee operational performance of Failure Analysis@contract manufacturer(s), ensuring partner(s) achieve key performance indicators, including FA SLA times, fault duplication rates, and fault isolation rates
• Work closely with the Product Quality and Manufacturing Test team to improve factory quality from field FA data
• Review and approve Failure Analysis results. Ensure status of RMA and Failure Analysis cases are updated in Synopsys customer relationship management system
• Maintain ECO matrix forRMAproductsand its implementation for repaired inventory
• Maintain a design for reliability/service guide. Review upcoming designs for DFR/DFS requirements
• Driving component level failure analysis with appropriate suppliers
• Travelup to25% of the timeto supplier sites out of the bay area

What You'll Need:

• BS/MS in Electrical/ElectronicsEngineering or related field, with 7-10years of experience in hardware failure analysisand/or Manufacturing test engineering.
• Strong background in PCBA design, system test, and hardware troubleshooting, including hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscope, Linux-based tests).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PERL, Bash, shell) and working in a Linux environment.

• Experience with analytical tools (SEM/EDS, CSAM, destructive/non-destructive tests) and understanding of circuit board schematics/layout.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word/Excel, Salesforce, SAP, Jira, and report automation tools (MS BI/Tableau/Sisense/Crystal Reports).
• Basic mechanical engineering knowledge and ability to lift/move up to 65lbs regularly.
