Position Overview

Trimble's Learning and Development team empowers users to unlock the full potential of their Trimble products. Our learning experiences are strategically created to reduce churn, enhance user proficiency, and promote the Connect & Scale vision.

We are seeking a talented and creative Instructional Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in instructional design, adult learning principles, and e-learning technologies. In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, product owners, and other stakeholders to create high-quality learning experiences that align with organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with subject matter experts, product owners, and other stakeholders to gather product information, create content, and ensure accuracy in learning materials.

  • Develop familiarity with assigned Trimble products through hands-on use.

  • Comply with team standards to write well-organized, clear, and accurate on-demand video or training scripts.

  • Adhere to Trimble brand standards, team templates, and department style guidelines to develop training that has a consistent visual and structural approach.

  • Utilize instructional technology and e-learning authoring tools to develop and deliver innovative and scalable learning solutions.

  • Utilize the instructional strategies set by the team that cater to different learning styles and preferences.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.

  • Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to project teams and leadership. Keep project progress up to date in team-sanctioned tracking tools.

  • Collect and analyze feedback from lead designers and stakeholders to continuously improve instructional design.

  • Build knowledge of the transportation industry as well as Trimble's products, solutions, processes, and customers.

Required Competencies

  • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and e-learning.

  • Proficiency in instructional design software, e-learning authoring tools, and multimedia editing tools (Camtasia, Articulate 360, Adobe Suite).

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines, and take initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision in complex situations.

  • Strong time management, research, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferences

  • Background in the transportation industry

  • Graphic design experience

Physical Requirements

  • Constant and close visual work at desk or computer

  • Constant sitting and working at desk

  • Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other business associates by email, chat/instant messaging (IM), virtual meetings, or telephone

This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
