Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Spacecraft Attitude and Control (ACS) Subsystem Engineer for Landsat, you'll serve as a bridge between hands-on subsystem expertise and broader systems-level leadership. You'll be a key member of the Flight Operations Team (FOT), owning subsystem health and safety while mentoring junior engineers and leading special projects. This role requires a balance of deep technical knowledge and emerging leadership capability.

What you bring to the table:

  • At least 2 years in satellite flight operations and 4 years in the space industry, preferably with Attitude and Control subsystem experience
  • Strong working knowledge of major satellite subsystems
  • Solid foundation in systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories

Duties and Tasks:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for one or more spacecraft subsystems, maintaining health, safety, and performance
  • Monitor trend plots (daily through annual) to assess spacecraft performance
  • Maintain and update procedures, displays, configuration files, and documentation
  • Prepare and submit commanding requests; perform verification/validation activities
  • Coordinate with vendors and calibration/validation teams for special activities
  • Lead or support troubleshooting of known and novel anomalies
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings to customer teams
  • Contribute to FOT tool development and OpsCon improvements
  • Apply systems engineering principles to identify and implement process improvements
  • Mentor junior Spacecraft Subsystem Engineers and support team development

Workplace Options:
This position is Hybrid/Flex. Expected to be able to be on-site within 2 hours during anomalies.
While on-site, you will primarily work from a customer facility.

Target salary range: USD $124,397.00/Yr. - USD $138,003.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
