POSITION SCOPE

The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for operations of the wash plant function and monitoring. Employees are expected to operate all equipment in a safe manner. As a result, basic mechanical skills are required for maintenance of equipment and assistance to overall plant maintenance.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Inspect and maintain equipment
  • Repair equipment
  • Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup/shutdown procedures
  • Grease machinery weekly
  • Replace wear parts (screens, paddles, etc.)
  • Clean debris from conveyor belt and around machinery
  • Safely operate Wash Plant to produce aggregate as specified by supervisor
  • Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair that he/she cannot do safely and effectively
  • Works closely with other crew members to coordinate work and ensure safety
  • Running equipment and loading when necessary
  • Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS



  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Capable of lifting 75 lbs.
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Able and willing to work extended work schedules, overtime, weekends, and call ins, as necessary
  • Understand and comply with mining safety and environmental regulations
