Cytogenetics supervisor job description

• Provide operational and technical leadership for the cytogenetics laboratory
• Oversee staff performance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate workflow for karyotyping and FISH testing
• Troubleshoot technical issues and manage inventory
• Write and maintain lab procedures and perform assay validations
• Review complex cases for accuracy and prepare reports using ISCN nomenclature
• Consult with pathologists and clinicians to ensure appropriate testing
• Hire, train, and mentor technologists; schedule staff and conduct evaluations
• Maintain inspection readiness and compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulations
• Drive continuous process improvement and innovation
• Perform bench work as needed and assist with operational tasks

Qualifications

At least a bachelors degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology with at least two years of experience in a clinical cytogenetics under a qualified director,
