THE POSITION

The Employment Banking and Revenue Technology Services Office is looking for a motivated team player who enjoys leading others and keeping complex systems moving. In this Computer Operations Supervisor role, you will participate in supporting a 24 hour print operation that helps the Department of Revenue deliver accurate and timely information. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Computer Operations Supervisor, you will be part of an around the clock team that oversees print and ensures that operators' workflows safely and efficiently. This entails monitoring and printing jobs from PaTH software to Ricoh Process Director print queue and preparing the prints for pickup or delivery. Work also utilizes Windows applications. In this position, you will perform the following duties:

  • Supervisory Leadership: Direct staff of Computer Operators and ensure smooth and efficient workflow across print operations
  • Quality Monitoring: Review printer output and identify issues that require correction
  • Report Distribution: Oversee separation and distribution of reports, forms, and letters to ensure accurate delivery
  • Supply Oversight: Maintain inventory and track needed supplies for uninterrupted production
  • Training Guidance: Teach operators system processes and observe their progress to strengthen their skills
  • Issue Resolution: Address processing errors as soon as possible to restore normal operations
  • Confidentiality: Appropriately handle confidential Federal Tax Information, complete IRS FTI training and necessary Commonwealth training regarding the handling of FTI

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are modified 2nd shift 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Computer Operator 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in operating computers, including one year in a supervisory capacity, and an associate degree with major course work in data processing; or
  • Three years of experience in operating computers, including one year in lead work capacity; and graduation from high school, or equivalent certification or formal training. Formal training in electronic data processing may be substituted for non-supervisory experience at the rate of 25 hours for one month, to a maximum of 12 months.
