JOB OVERVIEW:

Supports several functional areas of human resources including but not limited to: data integration, compilation and analytics, providing insight for multiple departments and purposes; maximizing system efficiencies; support system updates and changes to deliver on key objectives of the organization; communication; and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations. Duties require contact both internally to the organization and externally, as well as exposure to sensitive information, which necessitates considerable use of tact, confidentiality and discretion. This role supports people and processes across all sites, corporate and manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Compile, organize, analyze and interpret HR-related data including sensitive demographics related to hiring, training, turnover and retention.
  • Analyze people data to create reports, charts and graphs on a monthly basis to support the HR, Manufacturing, and Corporate Dashboards.
  • Integrate data analysis and interpretation to facilitate informed decision-making company-wide and build upon an adaptive management framework.
  • Collaborate with program managers to improve processes and functions system-wide.
  • Integrate data from cross-platforms to compile information and present analyses for monthly people analytic reporting to be provided to all sites and the ELT.
  • Be a subject matter expert regarding HRIS systems and other programs utilized to provide support cross-functionally to all team members across all sites.
  • Create and manage a training program for both new and experienced people managers to include monthly training sessions, creating presentations, presenting on a variety of topics (UKG Kronos, Workday and Policies and Procedures) and facilitating a communications platform for reference.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to work cross functionally to streamline processes and procedures and take appropriate steps to put new processes and procedures into action, including cross-site collaboration to ensure consistency.
  • Lead interpretation of adaptive management processes and assist in best alternative adjustments throughout the adaptive management cycle.
  • Collect and process data collected from outside agencies (e.g. The Work Institute) to provide information to contribute to process improvement with respect to recruiting, onboarding and team member retention.
  • Compile, analyze and engineer charts and graphs for various corporate and manufacturing departments to monitor overtime, tenure and other personnel metrics to aid in future planning decisions.
  • Track to completion training/learnings and required signatures, providing data to ensure we are in compliance.
  • Coordinate with our compliance officers to ensure that we are in compliance with respect to wage and hour law and integrate training programs to ensure that people managers understand their role with respect to wage and hour law.
  • Oversee and manage Covid Risk Assessments, Exposure Notices and coordinate surveillance testing to ensure compliance with CAL/OSHA requirements.
  • Coordinate employee programs and special events as necessary.
  • Handle special projects for the HR department and perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7 years of HR and/or administrative support experience in a sensitive and detail critical environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal working relationships with employees at all levels and external customers.
  • Must be able to effectively articulate policies and programs, including actively listening to and understanding employee concerns, and demonstrate ability to resolve concerns/questions.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, cooperation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge of MS Suite (advanced skill in PowerPoint and Excel preferred); as well as demonstrated experience working with database systems such as UKG/Kronos, Workday or other HRIS systems.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Under general supervision, must be able to exercise discretion and judgment within determined guidelines.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining quality and quantity of work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a changing manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible manufacturing schedule, including other shifts as needed.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Previous HR experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal and California employment law - Leaves of absence, ADA, EEO, FLSA, etc.
  • Prior exposure to a manufacturing/production work environment preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to sit/work at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to physically move throughout industrial facility, including climbing multiple flights of stairs, ladders, and tight access areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is conducted in an offsite office setting.
  • Must be able to work in a plant environment being exposed to dust, high noise levels, extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations, dirty work conditions, fumes and odors from welding and other maintenance processes, poor lighting, and wet operation work conditions.
