PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $88,000.00-$107,500.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $68,300.00 - $127,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, CA, VA, NC, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE

As a Financial Accountant II, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data that drives critical decisions across the organization. You'll bring clarity to complex transactions, helping maintain strong financial health while supporting initiatives like an upcoming ERP implementation. Your work will directly influence how effectively we operate and serve our members. This is a role where your analytical mindset and curiosity will help improve processes, strengthen controls, and elevate the way we manage financial data. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Account Reconciliation & Analysis: You'll monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts, digging into discrepancies and ensuring everything ties out accurately across areas like loans, fixed assets, and payroll.

  • Expense Classification & Review: You'll review invoices and transactions, ensuring expenses are properly categorized as capital or operational and aligned with general ledger standards.

  • Financial Integrity & Compliance: You'll maintain the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.

  • Collaboration & Business Support: You'll partner with teams across the credit union, helping resolve accounting issues and providing insights that support better business decisions.

  • Journal Entries & Close Process: You'll prepare daily and month-end journal entries and play a key role in the month-end and year-end close, including trend analysis and reporting.

  • Fixed Asset Accounting: You'll take ownership of fixed asset processes, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and adjustments-especially within the ERP system.

  • Process Improvement & Systems Support: You'll contribute to system enhancements and play an important role in the upcoming ERP implementation, helping ensure accounting processes are efficient and scalable.

  • Reporting & Audit Support: You'll prepare reports and schedules for audits and regulatory requirements, while also supporting ad hoc reporting needs.

  • Continuous Improvement: You'll identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance data accuracy across the organization.

  • Documentation & Procedures: You'll maintain clear and up-to-date documentation to support consistency and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work or education-related experience required.

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, including hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and applying GAAP principles, with exposure to fixed assets or ERP systems preferred.

  • Experience with managing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing business needs, and working both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.

Desired Qualifications

  • CPA license preferred.
