What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or authorizations, manage visitor processing, and document arrivals, departures, and restricted area access in accordance with site guidelines.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to supervisors, local contacts, and/or public emergency personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security-related concerns.
• Support security-related operations by maintaining accurate logs, preparing routine reports, and following post orders related to rail yard, terminal, and/or transportation facility access activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card and/or license is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience, or a college degree, is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
