POSITION SPECIFICS Join the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing as a Proposal and Award Generalist to help advance the College's research mission by ensuring high quality, compliance, and timely proposal development. While the primary focus of this position is pre-award administration, the Proposal and Award Generalist will also provide comprehensive administrative support across post-award. This role also provides integrated backup and operational support across research administration functions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Pre-Award Administration:
The Proposal and Award Generalist will also support routing of regulatory compliance materials, including Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and Conflict of Interest reviews. Additional Key Responsibilities: Financial and Post-Award Support:
The above responsibilities will involve collaboration with numerous Penn State units, including the Office of Sponsored Programs, Research Accounting, Office for Research Protections, and the central finance office. After training, the Proposal and Award Generalist will work with various software including SIMBA (Penn State's System for Integrated Management, Budgeting and Accounting), SAP Concur, and ServiceNow. Qualifications: Applicants must have the following:
Holding or actively pursuing the Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential will be considered a plus. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None Important Application Instructions:Applicants must submit a cover letter addressing their interest and relevant experience, in addition to a resume.
