THE POSITION

Our Custodial Worker 1 position within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) will allow you to help care for the facilities and grounds of Cook Forest State Park Complex. Your work will keep the park comfortable and enjoyable for guests throughout the year. This role performs steady, meaningful tasks that contribute directly to park operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the daily upkeep of buildings and grounds throughout Cook Forest State Park Complex. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Restroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, showers, floors, and walls in restrooms, bathhouses, and cabins
- Facility Care: Scrub, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures and replace restroom supplies
- Waste Management: Empty garbage cans, replace bags, and dispose of trash in designated dumpsters
- Grounds Upkeep: Pick up litter, maintain turf areas with mowers and trimmers, and clear snow and walkways
- Basic Repairs: Replace light bulbs, make simple repairs to buildings and equipment, or report issues to the supervisor
- Equipment Transport: Use vehicles to move cleaning equipment, deliver supplies, and travel to various locations in the park complex

- Seasonal full-time employment
- This position does not provide healthcare benefits. There is no option to buy-in to group healthcare benefits.
- Due to the seasonal nature of this position, work days and shifts will vary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- One or more years of cleaning experience
