DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports safety and security operations at the Farm Show Complex by monitoring facilities, managing traffic, and responding to incidents. In addition, you will be responsible for assisting visitors, efficiently communicating with staff, and completing various important daily duties. As an Event and Traffic Safety Staff member, you will perform the following tasks:

  • Facility Patrol: Perform patrols of buildings, parking lots, and grounds to maintain safety
  • Traffic Control: Manage parking areas, maintain traffic flow, and support event-related vehicle movement
  • Customer Service: Provide clear information and helpful assistance to visitors and event participants
  • Emergency Response: Communicate quickly during incidents and assist with directing emergency teams
  • Report Writing: Record daily activities, incidents, and important information in activity logs
  • Equipment Handling: Use and distribute security equipment as needed for assigned shifts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Temporary, full-time employment from July 2026 through March 2027.
  • Available shifts:
    • 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Friday - Tuesday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Free on-site parking

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience working in crowds.
  • Experience working at large-scale public events.
  • Experience working in security or traffic management.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
