Position Title: Material Handler
Location: San Diego, CA
Clearance: Secret
Position Summary
ISPA Technology is seeking a Material Handler to support hazardous waste collection, storage, transportation, spill response, and environmental remediation activities. The successful candidate will safely handle hazardous materials and waste while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, package, label, transport, and store hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Support hazardous material spill containment, cleanup, and remediation efforts.
- Handle materials such as acids, solvents, paints, fuels, asbestos, and other regulated waste streams.
- Operate material handling equipment and maintain waste storage areas.
- Follow established environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and protective suits.
- Support confined space entry and hazardous work operations as required.
- Maintain waste handling records and documentation.
Position Requirements
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds, with or without material handling equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, scaffolding, and in physically demanding environments.
- Ability to wear respiratory protection, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and Level A protective equipment for extended periods.
