The Opportunity: What You'll Do

As our Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Director of Accounting and serve as a vital anchor for our financial operations. You will act as the go-to subject matter expert for Mosaic's asset management system and lead accounting operations for our affiliates.




  • Master the Fixed Asset System: Take full ownership of recording owned and leased assets in Mosaic's asset system. You'll ensure total compliance with GAAP for asset/lease acquisitions and disposals, and guarantee the timely month-end posting of depreciation and amortization.



  • Affiliate Financial Management: Complete monthly accounting, financial statement preparation, and reviews for our Affiliates (including HUD, Living Innovations, Momentum, EaseE, Senior Services, and VEBA).



  • Balance Sheet & Ledger Excellence: Prepare assigned monthly journal entries (affiliate entries, shipping/IT allocations, and VEBA entries) and meticulously reconcile general ledger accounts.



  • Property & Capital Collaboration: Partner closely with Mosaic's property team to reconcile and monitor the construction-in-progress account. You'll also conduct quarterly reviews of minor equipment, repairs, and maintenance accounts to ensure correct fixed asset coding.



  • Treasury & Tax Operations: Manage vital daily financial movements, including executing desktop deposits, ACH payments, wires, and book transfers from Mosaic accounts. You will also handle the preparation and timely filing of Mosaic's sales tax and excise tax returns.



  • Audit Champion: Assist with the annual audit, coordinate audit preparations, and maintain smooth communication with our external auditors.




SCHEDULE: Business hours Monday-Friday, hybrid option available but will need to be in office for specific training and department events.

Your Background:


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree).



  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience in financial management and accounting.



  • Technical Know-How: Deep knowledge of GAAP standards and asset management systems, strong skill in reconciling general ledger accounts, and proficiency using personal computers and various financial software applications.



  • Core Skills: Exceptional ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, pay close attention to detail, and maintain absolute confidentiality.
