POSITION:

BOND Brothers, Inc., (BBI) the parent company of wholly owned subsidiaries BOND Building Construction, Inc. (BBC) and BOND Civil & Utility Construction, Inc. (BCU) seeks a newly established role of Vice President of Health & Safety (VPHS). The VPHS is responsible for developing, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive, enterprise-wide safety and wellness vison and program designed to protect BOND employees, subcontractors, key stakeholders, clients, and the public to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. The VPHS is a key member of the corporate Risk Management team for the BOND Companies and works in close collaboration with the BBC and BCU Safety Directors and their safety and operations teams as well as the BBI HR team to ensure safety excellence in the operations of the BOND Companies and a healthy, forward-thinking culture of caring and wellness for all BOND employees.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Develop and implement the BOND Companies' long-term safety and wellness vision, mission and strategy aligned with organizational goals;
  • Establish and evolve enterprise-wide safety plans, policies, and procedures in conformity with construction industry best practices and applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards and coordinate with subsidiary Safety Directors to establish subsidiary and sector specific safety plans, policies, and procedures;
  • Guide and mentor the enterprise safety teams including subsidiary Safety Directors and safety managers, helping to develop their structure and teams to support the overall growth of the business;
  • Advocate for and be a champion of safety and wellness at the enterprise leadership level, driving a culture of safety, well-being, and accountability throughout the organization;
  • Partner with the corporate HR and subsidiary operations teams to develop and implement a best-in-class training, learning and development program that supports the BOND Companies' overall safety and wellness vision and leverages emerging tools to reach employees in both office and project environments;
  • Embrace a leadership role in the use of technology, automation, and artificial intelligence to execute the BOND safety and wellness vision leveraging data and evolving analytical and predictability to establish best in class processes and procedures for safety-related incident response, reporting and management, accountability programs, and procedures as well as root cause and lessons learned reporting and documentation;
  • Develop and oversee systems and technologies to track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety related matters;
  • Provide regular reporting and analytics (both lagging and leading models) to the BOND Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and implement data-centric tools to identify and respond to project and sector specific risk factors and trends;
  • Collaborate with other members of the corporate Risk Management team in the strategic management of insurance programs and insurance market stakeholder relationships;
  • Collaborate with other members of the corporate Risk Management team in the strategic management of insured claims;
  • Oversee and implement enterprise-wide efforts to participate in industry organizations, peer groups and communities focusing on safety, technology, and wellness, including regular attendance at regional and national events and programs and regular participation in continuing education and professional presentations and opportunities.


WHAT YOU BRING:



  • BS in Occupational Safety or Health, engineering, construction management, or related degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a safety role;
  • Safety industry related certifications appropriate for the construction industry;
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with federal, state, and local safety regulations, standards, and requirements;
  • Willingness to travel for oversight of safety teams, ongoing projects and industry and peer programs and opportunities;
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience leading safety programs within organizations that self-perform construction activities and employ large craft workforces is preferred;
  • Familiarity with union labor environments is preferred.


FIRST YEAR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES:



  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current safety systems, culture, and capabilities across the organization;
  • Strengthen alignment between executive leadership, operations teams, and safety professionals;
  • Develop a multi-year enterprise safety strategy and implementation roadmap;
  • Evaluate emerging technologies including predictive analytics and AI-enabled safety insights;
  • Enhance workforce engagement, communication, and training programs.

  • The expected starting annual salary for this role is $275,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
