Job Description




As a Security Officer Access Gatehouse in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access procedures, screening entry points, and supporting security-related protocols at an industrial location.
  • Monitor and control access at gates, lobbies, and/or restricted areas by checking credentials, verifying visitor authorizations, issuing passes, and documenting arrivals and departures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, observing for unauthorized access, operational concerns, and conditions that could help to impact the location.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs, visitor records, and incident reports, and follow post orders and client-directed procedures for deliveries, vehicles, and material movement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
