Description

The Market Access Strategy Director leads global market access strategies that influence coverage and reimbursement, identifying trends and enabling a favorable reimbursement ecosystem for novel diagnostics.

The role evaluates product attributes, healthcare value drivers, and reimbursement landscapes to support development of reimbursable products and optimal go-to-market positioning.

It collaborates with medical affairs, marketing, and R&D to ensure products demonstrate medical necessity and value. The role also anticipates evidence needs (HEOR/RWE), develops payer value narratives, assesses global reimbursement environments, and defines overall market access strategy (covered populations, evidence strength, pricing rationale).

Additionally, it builds and leads a market access "community of practice" to upskill teams and support local reimbursement success globally.

Position Duties

1. Upstream (Reimbursable Products from Inception)

  • Evaluate reimbursability early in product development and recommend enhancements for payer attractiveness
  • Define PICO scenarios with medical affairs and marketing
  • Represent Market Access in cross-functional product development teams
  • Contribute to evidence generation strategy aligned to payer/HTA needs
  • Assess market access timelines, costs, and launch readiness
  • Coordinate HEOR, RWE, and payer value demonstration to align with strategy
2. Global Strategy
  • Lead global initiatives impacting product coverage and reimbursement
  • Engage with HTA frameworks, policy shifts, AMR, and value-based healthcare
  • Align with local teams to ensure strong access and viable reimbursement positioning
3. Community of Practice
  • Educate and socialize strategy across global/local teams
  • Support local market access teams
  • Establish forums (monthly calls, annual meetings) to upskill and build capability
4. Innovation & Thought Leadership
  • Monitor emerging methodologies, tools, and regulatory trends
  • Champion innovative market access approaches globally
5-6. General Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Science, Public Health, Health Economics, or equivalent)
  • 7+ years experience inmarket access strategies impacting product development and launches
    • OR HS diploma/GED and 11+ years experience in market access strategies impacting product development and launches
    • Including experience in:
      • Deep understanding of global reimbursement systems (HTA, DRG/FFS, P4P, bundled payments)
      • Experience with evidence strategy (HEOR, RWE, payer studies, submissions)
      • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership across global stakeholders
Preferred
  • Diagnostic or medical device industry experience
  • Experience building global networks or communities of practice

Travel Requirements

  • Domestic - 15%International - 10%
The estimated salary range for this role based in the Field is between $170,000 - 269,800. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
