Diversified Applications, Inc. (DAI), a subsidiary of Helena Agri-Enterprises, includes Eastern Aerial Specialists as part of its operations. Eastern Aerial Specialists--formerly Crabbe Aviation--is a full-service forestry application company specializing in aerial applications. Based in Ward, South Carolina, the team supports consultants, industrial clients, and private landowners across South Carolina and Georgia.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking full time employees to work a position as a crew member for our helicopter crews. This listing is for full time employment and pay though the work is highly seasonal with the bulk of our overtime hours coming during the summer months (Mid-June to Mid-November) and downtime coming in the winter months. Employee is guaranteed pay for 40 hours per week year round with greatly reduced actual working hours in winter.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

The position entails managing the daily logistics of herbicide application which includes:



  • Operates service truck and trailer in off road settings.
  • Performs preventative equipment maintenance.
  • Maintains and manages pesticide inventory.
  • Prepares chemical blends.
  • Interfaces with helicopters and crew members on a day to day basis.
  • Performs basic custodial needs in our work areas ( maintain clean, safe, and efficient work environment)
  • Communicates directly and punctually with our client base via phone calls and texting in an effort to maintain and effectively communicate scheduling
  • Travel on the road away from home is required at times. All hotel costs associated with work will be covered by employer. Individual room will be provided when possible.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be able to navigate with the help of GPS (company provides a tablet for this purpose).
  • Must be willing to work long hours in the outdoors during our busy season.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle. Must be able to meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.

Pay Scale:



  • $20/hour with a guarantee of 40 hours per week and time and half for overtime.

    • Overtime averages 200-300 hours per year.


  • Production bonus based off of employee performance (.25/acre completed as a crew).
  • Per diem of $40 per full working day while out of town.



Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position will be in an outdoor setting in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, you may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
