Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a strong focus on fixed assets to join their growing finance team. This role will oversee fixed asset accounting processes and manage key accounting workflows and reporting functions.

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and assisting the fixed asset accounting functions while overseeing day-to-day accounting activities. This individual will partner closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and timely close processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee reconciliation of fixed asset subledgers to the general ledger
  • Manage day-to-day fixed asset accounting activities and support related accounting staff
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Review and approve journal entries prepared by team members
  • Review workpapers and reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Own and oversee reconciliation ofreal estate tax subledgers to the general ledger
  • Coordinate with accounts payable and other internal departments regarding fixed asset activity
  • Support internal and external audit requests and ensure timely responses
  • Assist with SOX compliance and internal control processes
  • Partner with tax, treasury, and external municipalities on property tax-related matters
  • Handle ad hoc accounting, fixed asset, and real estate tax projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Approximately 7-10 years of accounting experience, including fixed asset accounting experience
  • Prior management or leadership experience overseeing staff and reviewing work
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP/accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
