Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing facility and mechanical maintenance activities to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role conducts preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections of building systems and plant equipment. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, experience with electrical and plumbing systems, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Job Responsibilities



  • Conduct routine inspections of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Repair and maintain HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, work orders, safety concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Install, repair, and maintain appliances, fixtures, equipment, shelving, and facility components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment by identifying malfunctions, disassembling components, and performing necessary repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Coordinate and serve as the onsite contact for external contractors, inspectors, and service providers.
  • Support facility improvement projects and general maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.


Job Requirements



  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience with electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of maintenance practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility and plant systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and equipment reliability practices.
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance documentation, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without employer sponsorship.
  • Must meet applicable requirements related to access to information and hardware regulated under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), including qualification as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.


Education



  • Trade school education in a maintenance-related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant maintenance experience will be considered.


Work Experience



  • 5-7 years of facility maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or related experience required.
  • Experience maintaining electrical and plumbing systems required.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments preferred.
  • Training or experience in general carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance preferred.
