As a Tax Manager within International Tax for RSM US you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focus around three core concepts (Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development):

Responsibilities:

  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of International Tax services including planning, research, compliance, general mergers and acquisitions activities and transfer pricing with a focus on Mexico, LATAM, Spain and other South American client needs.
  • Preparing and/or assist with complex Tax returns - approximately 5 -10% of your time
  • Assist with new business development, extended service and tax issue recognition for existing clients
  • Manage corporate international client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback - approximately 10- 20% of your time
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA/BS Degree - preferably in Accounting or related field of study
  • Requires CPA (Mexico and/or U.S.), law degree, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Requires minimum of six years of experience in the Mexican international tax environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications
  • Extensive knowledge of the Mexican international tax regulatory framework, including:
  • Maquiladora taxation, Title V of the Income Tax Law (Foreign Persons with Mexican-Sourced Income) Tax residency determination, expatriate/inpatriate taxation, Mexican FTC regulations, Application of Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs), VAT issues for import/export transactions, CUFIN and CUCA tax attributes, Income tax and VAT aspects of the IMMEX Export Program
  • Strong understanding of Mexico's transfer pricing regulations.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, tax preparation and review within the international taxation environment
  • Experience with Mexican tax aspects of M&A projects, including:
  • Tax due diligence
  • Reorganizations and structuring
  • Working knowledge of U.S. international tax concepts, such as: Check-the-box eligibility, GILTI, U.S. taxation of non-resident individuals
  • Requires bi-lingual business level fluency in English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires the ability to travel domestically as well as possible internationally up to 15% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Experience with international advisory firms.
  • L.L.M. or advanced tax degree.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $189,200

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
