We are hiring for a Lease Construction Sub-Regional Director, Texas.

We are looking for deep technical and business effectiveness, trusted leadership and demonstrated large-scale program management success. You should have exceptional industry knowledge, technical depth in the planning, data review and execution of data centers, and have executive presence to lead complex and time sensitive initiatives.

In this role, the successful candidate will partner closely with key engineering leaders to drive programs focused on transforming how we deliver data centers to our customers. These programs will be on the leading edge of innovation and will include driving pilots and other first of kind programs that shape ongoing strategy in delivering data centers efficiently and on schedule. You balance effective analytical and technical skills with the ability to influence decision makers within the CO+I leadership and execution teams spread across the rest of Azure. You will partner closely with related teams including our design engineering, construction, networking and data center project management teams.



Responsibilities

Regional Delivery & Portfolio Accountability

  • Ownregional DCBM delivery performanceacross all owned and leased datacenter projects, from early engagement through turnover to Operations.

  • Ensure delivery commitments forschedule, cost, quality, safety, and capacityare met or exceeded across the regional portfolio.

  • Translateglobal DCBM strategyinto executable regional plans, aligned to business demand, AI delivery requirements, and market conditions.

  • Provide executivelevel visibility into regional health, risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and developSubRegional DCBM Directors and Managers, building a strong succession pipeline and highperformance culture.

  • Foster adiverse, inclusive, and valuesaligned environmentthat supports collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

  • Set clear expectations for role clarity, decision rights, anddeliveryownership across the regional organization.

  • Champion Microsoft's leadership principles and cultural commitments in all peoplerelated decisions.

CrossFunctional & Executive Collaboration

  • Act as theregional escalation pointfor complex delivery issues involving Leasing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, EHS, Commissioning, and Operations.

  • Partner closely withGlobal DCBM Leadershiptoalign onstandards, governance, staffing models, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Represent the region inexecutive forums, capacity planning discussions, and strategic investment reviews.

  • Ensure effective handover and readiness for Operations, with clear ownership of milestones and interfaces.

Safety, Quality & Governance

  • Serve as a visible leader and advocate forhealth, safety, quality, and ethical delivery, reinforcing zeroharm expectations.

  • Ensure consistent application ofDCBM standards, processes, and controlsacross all regional projects.

  • Drive disciplined risk management, change control, and issue resolution at scale.

  • Uphold Microsoft governance, compliance, and reporting requirements across the region.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Oversee regional relationships withgeneral contractors, lessors, design partners, and critical suppliers.

  • Ensure vendor strategies support schedule certainty, quality outcomes, and longterm scalability.

  • Hold partners accountable to contractual obligations, performance metrics, and Microsoft values.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years experience working on data center projects.
  • 10+ years project management experience.
  • 10+ years people management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering hyperscale or AIoptimized datacenter environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction sequencing, commissioning, and operational handover in missioncritical facilities.
