Lead Maintenance Technician About the Role

Lead facility maintenance operations ensuring optimal building performance and system reliability. This supervisory role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, overseeing maintenance teams to deliver exceptional service across JLL's managed properties. The position requires both strategic planning and direct involvement in complex troubleshooting and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance team activities, including work assignments, scheduling, and performance management
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for troubleshooting and repairs across building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage work order systems and maintenance management software to track and prioritize facility needs
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and plan repairs
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and ensure work meets JLL standards and client expectations
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians to develop team capabilities and improve performance
  • Respond to emergency situations and coordinate urgent repairs to minimize building downtime
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment records, and inventory management
  • Partner with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of specialized maintenance work
Required Skills and Experience
  • 5-7 years of hands-on technical experience in facility maintenance, building systems, or related technical field
  • 2-3 years of proven supervisory or lead technician experience with responsibility for team coordination and performance management
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairing building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Relevant trade licenses or certifications as required by local jurisdiction (HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications)
  • Strong proficiency with maintenance management software systems and digital work order platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in confined spaces
  • Strong communication skills with ability to coordinate across teams and interact professionally with clients
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Additional trade certifications beyond minimum requirements (e.g., multiple disciplines)
  • Experience managing facilities in commercial real estate or corporate environments
  • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platforms
  • OSHA safety certifications or equivalent safety training credentials
  • Experience with budget management and cost control for maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED operations
  • Bilingual capabilities to support diverse workforce and client needs

Estimated compensation for this position:

27.00 - 35.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
