THE ROLE:

This role requires business-level fluency in Mandarin, as it involves regular technical engagement with China-based customers.


This role demands a seasoned professional with strong technicalexpertisein server platform hardware and is adept at navigating the complex interplay between hardware and software in AI GPU solutions. Byfacilitatinga close collaboration with our Instinct platform and product architects, lead system designers, and firmware developers, you will be key to shaping future AI products that stand out in the market and provide unrivaled value to our customers.

In this roleas aCustomer EnablingSystems Engineer, you will be a key contributorinthe Data Center GPU, CustomerTechnical Readiness Leadership (CTRL)teamsupporting customersin their systems development,deploymentand sustainingactivities. The role will require intense engagements across all of AMD'ssystem design MDC, OEM and ODM partners as we work together to build the best systems as building blocks to our customers' AI needs.

THE PERSON:

As atechnical leader in AICustomer Enablement, you will work with our key customers to enablerack scale systemssolutions that meet the performanceand business use cases of China based customersoperatingin the US. In this high visibility position, your systems engineeringexpertisewill be necessary tosupportproduct development, definition, and root cause resolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for understandingthe system levelfeatures and functionality needsofChina based,Instinct productcustomers

  • Engage with customers on requirements during concept and pre-salestimeframe, shaping the overall technical direction of our AI solutions.

  • Ability totranslatethebusinessusage models into a setofsystemhardware features andrequirements.

  • Based on customer insights,providearchitectural guidance and support to our internal systems design teams as we help them develop ourreference designs.

  • Supportcustomers throughthe end-to-end system development and deployment process.

  • Leadcustomerarchitectural overview conversationson next generation AMDGPUarchitectures.

  • Help customers with resolving issues intheir AIserver designindomains like - power, thermal, mechanical, and electrical.

  • Develop and drive design review processes of ourcustomer'splatform designs and flag areas that could bemodifiedto improve quality, performance, or other areas key to their competitiveness.

  • Provide strategic oversight for our AMD participation in industry consortiums, driving forward key AI initiatives.

  • Drive future product architecture influence,leveraginginsights from deep customer execution engagements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in server platform hardware designand development.Expertisein networking & storage solutions in data centers would be a huge plus.

  • A track recordof working closely with customers, engaging in dialogue to understand theirneedsand aligning our product development accordingly.

  • Experience working with ODMs & OEMs and MDCs in delivering complex solutions atsignificantscale.

  • History of influencing architectural direction through product execution learnings.

  • Asthe primary roles isinterfacing withcustomers based in China, the ability to speak Mandarin isarequirement.

BS/MSdegree in Electrical Engineering
