Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 0.90 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: 12 Hour Days (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

The Charge RN provides clinical and operational leadership during assigned shifts within the Pediatric Unit. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, overseeing daily unit operations, supporting staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for pediatric patients and their families. The Charge RN promotes exceptional patient experiences, patient safety, quality outcomes, and efficient care delivery while serving as a clinical resource for the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides shift supervision and direction for unit staff.
  • Coordinates staffing, patient flow, and daily operations.
  • Ensures safe, timely, effective, and family-centered care for pediatric patients.
  • Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.
  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Promotes patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Responds to complex patient care situations and unit emergencies.
  • Supports effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers to promote positive outcomes and experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience required
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
  • PALS
