Schedule: 24 hours per week Shift: Variable Day Shift Hours Location: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville, WI ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Determines patient name and DOB, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or oral instructions. Directs or escorts incoming patients from designated areas. Cares for patient's belongings accompanying patient. Assist patients with walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patients with wheelchair or cart. Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, patient cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within facility during patient stay. Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items. Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers and patient identifiers. Maintains, cleans all transport equipment. Observes and follows all universal precautions and infection control techniques. Works with unit staff to assist patient upon return from procedure or exam by informing appropriate staff that the patient has returned. All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: One to three months related experience and/or training preferred. Will consider CNA, MA, or students of any related healthcare profession (nursing, radiology, etc) CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Minimum Required: Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to follow both written and oral instructions accurately and consistently.
